Yuletide: Infant, 4 others die in road accidents in Adamawa

The Adamawa Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps has confirmed the death of five people including an infant in various road crashes during the Christmas and New year periods.
The head of operations of the Adamawa FRSC, Mohammed Kabo, said on Thursday in Yola that the deaths were unfortunate but avoidable.
“From December 23, 2013 to January 1, 2014, five people including an infant lost their lives while 28 others sustained different degrees of injuries”. Mr. Kabo said.
He said that the deaths were recorded in 16 different road accidents which involved 24 vehicles across the state.
According to the head of operations, Hong and Numan local government areas had the highest number of accidents and casualties during the period.
He advised road users in the state to always obey the road traffic rules and regulations for. their safety and that of other users.
